Reproductive plasticity of Vespula pensylvanica (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) on Maui and Hawaii Islands, USA

Gambino P. 1991. Reproductive plasticity of Vespula pensylvanica (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) on Maui and Hawaii Islands, USA. New Zealand journal of zoology. 18(2):139-149

Reproductive activites of Vespula pensylvanica were studied on the recently invaded islands of Maui and Hawaii. Aspects of reproductive behavior were inferred from the use of attractant traps to monitor foraging worker and traffic rates of nests and dissections of queens occupying active nests or captured while foraging.
