It is shown that the use of a resource consumption model yields good agreement with reported moose observations in the period 1915 to 1948. The ecological constants are found to be realistic where comparison can be made. The model provides continuous transition from the condition when available resource far exceeds consumer demand to the condition when consumer demand far exceeds available resource. The two-state system model accounts for linear respiration of both vegetation and moose, Monod solar energy conversion by the vegetation, and an imposed exponential transition from linear consumption to Lotka-Volterra consumption. The exponential transition is controlled by a ratio similar to the Q-factor of Cloud.
