Introductory section gives general overview of geography, geology, climate, soils, storm zones, and alien species invasions. Section on natural resource status lists native forest birds found in mid-1970's in park. Species listed are now no longer extant in the park, largely due to invasion of brown tree snake. Table 2 lists plant communities at the park units, giving type and status prior to WW II, during Japanese occupation, post-liberation, and at present. Appendix B gives speculative plant list for the park, giving scientific name, local name, status, growth form, and habitat. Includes black & white photographs, bibliography.
