This two-part Cooperative Park Studies Unit report describes the use of land and resources by residents in the Lake Clark and Katmai areas. Land- and resource-use surveys were conducted in the Lake Clark area from November 1976 to February 1977. Field work was conducted in the communities of the Katmai region between February and April 1977. Six communities were visited and over 60 interviews conducted for Katmai. The report evaluates the possible economic impacts on area residents of establishing Lake Clark National Park and expanding Katmai National Monument.
