'The Resources Management Plan is a strategic planning document and a key factor in proper management of the resources. The plan includes a set of project statements comprised of proposed actions for implementation as well as 5-year programming sheets for management and research actions. Project statements are determined on the basis of approved Statements for Management and consideration of previously completed research. The plan provides continuity and serves as a manual for the Superintendent in three ways: 1) for management activities which will help maintain natural ecological processes, 2) for the enlightened management of archeological and historical resources, and 3) a set of research recommendations and priorities which are designed to obtain additional information for management and interpretation.'
