Intertidal and subtidal marine life in Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park was qualitatively surveyed to a depth of roughly 200 feet. Data on distribution and abundance of intertidal invertebrate macrofauna was collected from walking surveys, while subtidal species were observed by snorkel and SCUBA. Nine major subtidal habitat zones are defined, with maps of all marine and shoreline habitats. Brief descriptions of fish communities and invertebrate fauna. Discussion of species preservation issues, focusing on green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) and Hawaiian Stilt (Himantopus mexicanus knudseni). Park visitors using light watercraft in these areas is not seen as detrimental.
