The Response of Understory Herbs in Soil Depth Gradients in High and Low Density Communities
Bratton SP. 1976. The Response of Understory Herbs in Soil Depth Gradients in High and Low Density Communities. Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club. 103(4):165 - 172
Comparisons were made between herbal communities in a site in the Adirondacks (low diversity) and a similar one in GRSM (high diversity). Depth of the soil was not found to be responsible for the variation in species number, but to other environmental factors.
