This is a final report that documents the effects of 7 km of beach nourishment on the macroinvertebrate community located in Perdido Key, Florida. The study monitored the negative impact on the benthic species and their recovery responses as far out as 800 meters seaward from the original pre-restoration beach. Four transect lines were identified for sampling. The report addresses alterations to the physical environment, organismic response to the changes, key species responses, and the recovery. While some recovery occurred over two years, a persistent negative impact continued for a year. Recovery continued as the beach morphology evolved.
