After a review of the literature and a comparison of the Indiana subspecies and Mammoth Cave Kentucky species of blind crayfish, the author concludes that Cambarus pellucidus testii Hay and Orconectes inermis Cope are synonymous. He suggests the name Orconectes pellucidus inermis for the smoother, less spiny subspecies of south central Indiana. O. inermis Cope is compared with C. p. testii Hay. The taxonomy, biology, distribution and affinities of O. p. inermis Cope is presented.
