This paper summarizes criticisms of the movement to restrict or ban chlorine feedstocks in the chemical industry of the Great Lakes region. In this paper, the author attempts to summarize the scientific basis for evaluating an alternative scenario for organochlorine reduction in the Great Lakes ecosystems using a relative risk framework.
