Wachter BG. 1978. Rock motion hazard: Geologic analysis of rock deterioration at selected National Park Service archeological sites. Western Archeological Center. Tucson, AZ
Report A studies El Morro, Bandelier, Chaco Canyon, Wupatki National Monuments, and Mesa Verde National Park, with return trips to El Morro, Bandelier, and Mesa Verde. Report B examines Tonto, Canyon de Chelly, Navajo, Walnut Canyon, and Montezuma Castle National Monuments. The problems of falling rocks, slump, glide and creep a studies throughout appropriate National Park centers in the southwest to identify, describe and disseminate information in order to create an awareness of potential threats to visitors and structures. Rock motion generates one of the most severe problems and this paper is aimed at awareness, using geological study techniques in investigation and analysis of data.
