Report on research for a course, taught at the University of Texas' Marine Science Institute, Port Aransas, Texas, on the meteorology and climatology of the Texas Coast Zone. Establishing the need for data on meteorology and climatology, designation of a climatic zone for the region, dynamics of air, water and land forces, impact of coastal weather upon this zone, and resource management problems that are unique to the Texas Coast Zone, particularly Mustang Island, Padre Island, and Padre Island National Seashore. The major foci of the report are upon the need for additional data collection sites located on the Gulf Coast of Texas, not inland, the lack of a climatologic baseline study, design of a classification for the coastal zone which examines the natural environmental aspects of its climatology and meteorology, in order to compare records.
