Rooting and wallowing occurred at higher elevations in warm weather and lower ones in cool weather, responding to both temperature and food availability. Also, farrowing occurred mostly at high elevations. Wallowing was done in drier sites in warm weather, and in cove hardwood forests in cooler sites.
