"The pelagic zooplankton community of Crater Lake was evaluated for spatial and temporal distribution patterns and taxonomic structure between July 1985 and September 1987. Sampling methods were compared and a 0.5-m net towed vertically was selected as the method for monitoring the community. The community consisted of two cladoceran and nine rotifer species. No predatory species were present. Rotifers were numerically dominant, Keratella cochlearis being the most abundant species. Bosmina longirostris was numerically dominant to Daphnia pulicaria. The abundance of Daphnia, however, appeared to increase during the study. The majority of the zooplankton populations occurred in hypolimnion."
