Sanup Plateau Grazing Impact Study

Baxter C, Brewer DG, Jorgensen RK, Galeano R. 1984. Sanup Plateau Grazing Impact Study. USDA-Kaibab National Forest, Southwestern Region

The soil and range evaluation took place in 1984 primarily on the four parcels of land included in grazing allotments up to 1985. By comparing adjacent areas historically inaccessible to livestock, the study sought to determine how grazing has influenced various vegetation factors. Other findings include highly valuable cool season forage species were virtually eliminated under grazed conditions.
