Sexual Behavior of Grizzly Bears

Copulation was observed among grizzly bears (Ursus horribilis) at a dump in west-central Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. One male attempted copulation with a female continuously for 25 minutes. A second male then mounted the female and attempted copulation for a few minutes. No aggressive interactions were noted between the three bears involved in copulation or three other bears within a few meters.
