The objectives of this study were to collect information on the biotic components of hemlock ecosystems at Shenandoah NP using the ecosystem profile method (Mahan et al. 1998), and to test the use of the ecosystem profile method." Compared two sites that were similar, but with different forest (hemlock vs hardwood). Looked at mammals, invertebrates, soils, vegetation and salamanders.
