Shrews from Hermit Cave, Guadalupe Mountains, New Mexico

Findley JS. 1965. Shrews from Hermit Cave, Guadalupe Mountains, New Mexico. Journal of Mammalogy. 46(2):206-210

Study of remains of Sorex vagrans, S. nanus and Notiosorex crawfordi from pre-Basketmaker deposits in Hermit Cave, New Mexico, revealed that S. vagrans was smaller than animals of this species currently living in nearby mountains. However, the other two species were essentially like their extant relatives.
