During 1986 and 1987 the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Biology, University of California, Davis, conducted a biological survey of the Deer Creek and Mill Creek drainages. The long-range goals of the study of these drainages are the location, identification, and quantification of all their significant natural and historical resources. This paper includes the findings of this study as well as summaries of previous studies in the area. A description and history of both drainages is given along with anthropological and archeology resources, plant communities, mammals, birds, fishes, and aesthetic resources. Recommendations to preserve the drainages are given with effects of development and methods of management.
