Most of Big Cypress National Preserve is within Collier County, with small portions in Dade and several other counties. This soil survey report provides information on the soils of Collier County, their use, and their management. The beginning describes the physiography, relief, and drainage; the climate and water supply; the vegetation; and land use and types of farming. The large section on soils describes individual types and phases (in alphabetical order). Other sections include morphology, genesis, and classification of soils; correlation of vegetation and soil types; and more. In the packet with the booklet are a folded table summarizing important characteristics of Collier County soils, and 8 folded color maps which collectively cover the county.
