This report summarizes the results from a soil survey conducted at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. This report is a summary of the soil survey of Cedar County, Iowa (Soil Conservation Service). The soils formed in loess that is more than 40 inches thick. It is approximately 35% Tama soils, 28% Downs Soils, and 37% minor soils. The report breaks down individual layers and sloping conditions.
