Discusses general characteristics of fungi including body composition, reproductive units, food intake, and physical appearance. Different groups of organisms that are usually assigned to the fungi (slime-molds, alga-like fungi, sac-fungi, etc.) are discussed at length giving life cycles and how that species interacts with other living organisms. More than half of the article is devoted to listing fungi and giving a brief summary of the species and where it can be found in Lassen Park.
