This report is 3rd of a 4 volume report. Volume 3 addresses adjustments of the nearshore-beach profile along the north shore of western Santa Rosa Island, FL due to cold front passage. This project began in December, 1994 and ended in May, 1995. The study covers beach movement and morphology, as well as water currents and weather patterns during the passage of cold fronts. Conclusions of the report indicated that beach movement was heavily impacted by the southerly and easterly flow of wind-currents which resulted in increased tide water-levels; however, the westerly and northerly winds decreased tide impacts in the Pensacola Bay area. There was beach erosion along the bay-side shoreline at the rate of 0.7 meters for a 21-week monitoring period; annual erosion was at the rate of 1.8 meters per year.
