From p. 510, 'The primary goal of the present study was to identify the factors involved in the reduced growth and dieback of Spartina in a Louisiana marsh.' The study ws conducted July 15, 1982 to August 4, 1983 near Barataria Bay. Analyzed water in soils (for NH4, sulphide, pH and salinity), and plants (leaf nitrogen, sulphur, oxygen deficiency - surmised by presence of an enzyme).
