Matlock GC and Weaver JE. 1979. Assessment and Monitoring of Texas Coastal Finfish Resources. 2-313-R. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Coastal Fisheries Branch. Austin, TX
Results of an 8-month survey of the abundance, size, and population of red drum (Sciaenops ocellata), black drum (Pogonias cromis), spotted seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus), sheepshead (Archosargus probatocephalus), and southern flounder (Paralichthys lethostigma) in the seven bay systems of the Texas Gulf Coast: Galveston, Matagorda, San Antonio, Aransas, Corpus Christi, and upper and lower Laguna Madre. These species were selected for the study because they comprise 97% of the total catch by commercial fishermen on the Texas Gulf Coast.
