In discussing the history of bighorn sheep in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the author notes heavy hunting pressure in the early part of this century. Presently, the Ajo Mountains support the greatest number of sheep, but all the mountainous areas have some. Sheep evidently migrate, sometimes a considerable distance in a short time, and wander in and out of the monument area. The adult sheep observed appear healthy, although some of the lambs were seen coughing. An added 2-page report gives sheep observations for July 21, 1963 when a group of 7, which included two rams fighting, were watched for over an hour by the author.
