Steelhead restoration and management plan for California

McEwan D and Jackson TA. 1996. Steelhead restoration and management plan for California. California Department of Fish and Game. Sacramento, CA

Although this plan for management and restoration of steelhead trout covers the state of California, it does contain a little specific information about Redwood National Park. The section on pages 148-150 discusses the degraded fish habitat conditions in Redwood Creek and its estuary, and potential remedies. Recommendations are to accelerate restoration in the upper watershed, work on restoring the estuary (including removal or modification of the levees), limit fishing, and investigate effects of summer dams upstream of the park.
