Authors examined environmental and biological responses of 20 stream sites in Yellowstone National Park each year for the first five years following the 1988 fires, and a subset of these streams in 1994, 1995 and 1997. Findings demonstrate the relationship between a stream and its drainage basin following large-scale disturbances such as wildfire as late as 9 years after the event.
