A study concerning the populations of macroinvertebrates in a lagoon on Horn Island in Gulf Islands National Seashore, Florida and Mississippi after an oil spill. An introduction describes the extent of the oil spill and invertebrates previously reported as occurring at the site. Invertebrates were sampled qualitatively and quantitatively from sampling stations. The following parameters were collected from each of the sampling stations: temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, tidal stage, water depth, sea state, wind direction, cloud cover, time of day, and wave height. Sediment samples were collected and analyzed for petroleum residue. The results are discussed generally and by sample station. Approximately 75 pages of this report are tables showing taxa lists, hydrology data, sediment analysis data, temporal changes in taxa, etc.
