The detailed examination of submarine-deposited metavolcanic rock in Mineral King has revealed that the material was laid down at temperatures above 500 degrees C. Thus ambient water, which would cause chilling, was not incorporated into the pyroclastic volcanic flow. Other information details the eruption, and presents theories for the development of certain submarine volcanic features.
