This report is one of a large group containing details of individual projects done as part of the major rehabilitation efforts in the Redwood Creek basin, Redwood National Park, California. It is primarily about the use and costs of heavy equipment in erosion control work at the 83-7 site (in and near Elk Camp Prairie). A little secondary treatment was accomplished by labor intensive methods. A hand-colored treatment map shows locations for specific erosion control treatments (road ripping, outsloping). Tables give details of heavy equipment use and costs. Background information on file for each site includes photopoint files (photopoint maps and description of locations for documentary photographs), color slides (the work process, before-and-after documentation), administrative files (calculations of volumes for excavation, equipment/hours/costs, daily logs, contracts, etc.), detailed geomorphic site maps (unmarked mylar base maps with overlays), and aerial photographs.
