On 30 August 1986 the author visited the Gambusia gaigei refugium and Spring 4 area in Big Bend National Park, Texas. Fish of all sizes were seen. Cattails were prevalent at both the inlet and outlet areas, and suggestions as too pulling up some of the plants were made. All fish seen in Spring 4 were Gambusia gaigei
