Survey for Bats in the Los Alamos National Environmental Research Park, With Special Emphasis on the Spotted Bat, Euderma maculatum

During July 1992, five bat habitats at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Bandelier National Monument, NM, were surveyed using mist nets. Reported are species found at each netting site and their reproductive status. The natural history of the spotted bat (Euderma maculatum) is discussed. Appendix 1 has sixteen maps of the continental US with the distribution of bat species likely to occur in the Los Alamos area. Appendix 2 lists the range, description, and natural history of bats captured during the survey. Appendix 3 lists species of bats captured in the Los Alamos area during previous studies.
