A study to consolidate, summarize, and evaluate all existing information (up to 1988) on carnivores in Arches National Park, to determine presence/absence of fifteen species known/suspected to occur in the Park and determine their distribution, to test a variety of survey techniques, and to make recommendations for long-term monitoring and future research priorities. Report includes a summary of observation records for carnivores in Arches, from 1975 to 1988; and results of scent-station surveys and ground tracking surveys led by the author in spring of 1988 (DS-ARCH-022). An appendix gives literature-review species accounts of the carnivores of Arches.
