The present report deals specifically with research objectives directed at the U.S.S. Arizona. Those objectives were to 1.) develop a baseline inventory of biological communities and sedimentation extant on structural remains of the ship and 2.) obtain quantifiable measurements of the present state of deterioration of metal structural elements of the ship at various laocations. Includes "phyletic checklist of common organisms observed on U.S.S. Arizona." Also includes table entitled "Composition and thickness of fouling at vertical hull and superstructure stations" giving station no., water depth, sponges (percentage encrust. and erect), schizoporella, annelids, mollusks, tunicates, and algae. Includes diagrams of the memorial giving locations of monitoring stations.
