This study, conducted by a Missouri Southern State College student, documents the determination of the different types of reptilians, specifically lizards, snakes and turtles, found at George Washington National Monument. A discussion is included on the reptilian classifications, previous studies, predator habits, food consumption, and potential threat to man. Observation and capture/recapture methods, based on established protocol, are discussed. A table, listing the common and scientific names of the species identified and the number of species observed, is included. Also included are maps identifying the locations of where the lizards, snakes, and turtles were found in the subject area. Conclusions and recommendations based on the survey are included.
