The 1997 survey of the black-capped vireo (Vireo atricapillus) in Big Bend National Park, Texas, was done from 19 May to 1 June. A total of 33 birds was found, an increase from the 21 birds in 1996. No evidence of parasitism was discovered. Brown-headed and bronzed cowbirds continue to be in highest concentrations at Panther Junction
