Following three naturally ignited fires in the summer of 1986 on Cumberland Island National Seashore, mature live oaks, laurel oaks, and red bays were tagged to determine post-burn survival. Includes introduction to the island and a brief fire history; study methods (description of study sites, sampling methods, data analysis); results; and discussion.
