On 7 August 1984 an aerial survey of swans was conducted in the Johnson River drainage and along the north side of Chinitna Bay. Its objective was to identify swan staging and nesting concentrations, as well as to assess productivity. Results of the survey are depicted on maps and data forms. Eighteen pairs of swans were observed, nine of which were with broods. Average brood size was 2.9 cygnets per brood.
