Survey of gorgonians (a type of coral) in Lameshur Bay, St. John (species, abundance and distribution). Includes illustrations of corals. This study consisted of a tentative survey of gorgonians octocorals within Lameshur Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin islands. The study also included an abundance distribution examination of the gorgonians. The null hypothesis was that the diversity of gorgonians in Lameshur Bay was low and that individual species abundance did not change with depth. On completion of the report, the null hypothesis was rejected because species diversity was found to be rich (twenty species were identified) and individual species abundance changed at various depths of twenty feet, forty feet and sixty feet.
