This study will gather information on the distribution, taxonomy, phenology, community ecology, and autecology of Penstemon tenuiflorus in an effort to: 1) Establish the characteristics that distinguish P. tenuiflorus from the closely related P. hirsutus; 2) Determine the reasons for the restricted geographic and habitat distribution of P. tenuiflorus as compared to the widely distributed P. hirsutus; and 3) Provide a basic understanding of the biology of P. tenuiflorus.
