Report on the ecological impact of the IXTOC I oil spill on the beaches of Padre Island National Seashore, Texas. Because two months occurred between the blow-out of IXTOC I and the arrival of oil on the beach, collection of chemical and biological baseline data was accomplished and contingency measures were accomplished.
