In response to the eruptions at Mount St. Helens, the Cascades Volcano Observatory initiated a program to monitor all potentially active volcanoes of the Cascade Range. As part of this program, tilt networks were installed and baseline measurements were obtained from Mt. Shasta and Lassen Peak. Baseline measurements included geochemical investigations (temperature measurements, gas sampling from fumaroles at Lassen Peak) and geodetic studies (tilt surveys, slope distance, vertical angle measurements, precision gravity surveys). Included are maps, pictures and diagrams of tilt stations at Mt. Shasta and Lassen Peak.
