This report provides an update to a similar one from 1991 regarding timber harvest plans for the Redwood Creek basin. Staff of Redwood National Park (California) sometimes have the opportunity to review plans and physical conditions in affected areas, as well as to make suggestions for improved practices. Tables summarize total annual plans (1978-1991) and plans with park involvement (in pre-harvest inspections). The text discusses reasons for fluctuations in those numbers. Several park studies are mentioned which show ways to prevent avoidable sedimentation of Redwood Creek, and which have affected road construction practices and rules. The author notes that threats to park resources from upstream logging and road construction are still of vital concern, and research to update findings of 10 years or more before is essential to coping with these threats. Future work includes fostering cooperation with private timberland owners, encouraging long-term maintenance of logging roads, and completing a database within the park's Geographical Information System identifying threatened areas by specific site location.
