Describes the current status of natural and cultural resources of American Samoa. Analyzes the socio-economic, biological, and cultural significance of these resources and the short- and long-term threats they face. Argues the need for a conservation plan - a Territorial Conservation Strategy - that will allow citizens, NGOs, and leaders of American Samoa to form consensus on the value and conservational importance of these resources. The report includes three sets of maps at 1:24000 scale depicting biological and cultural resources and candidate conservation areas on Tutuila and Manu`a. An appendix provides a complete listing of archaeological and historical sites of the Territory. Includes information on the National Park of American Samoa.
