This document is the final report of a five-year Hydrologocal Unit Area (HUA) Project focusing on evaluating and addressing water quality and water quantity problems affecting the 55 square mile Great Swamp watershed in Morris and Somerset Counties. Its overall goal is to provide local decision makers (public officials and community leaders) with the tools to evaluate, recommend, and implement strategies to reduce impacts of existing and proposed development on water quality and water quanity affecting the Great Swamp National Refuge. Within the 129 page document is included all the technical studies, surveys, and information collected by the author (USDA NRCS) over more than 5 years of research, outreach, and demonstration programs. There are also included eight full-color geographic information system maps, two hydrologic schematic diagrams, references, three appendices and an issue of Swamp Sounds, the Project newsletter.
