This article by a Colorado College researcher documents the flora of Cape Prince of Wales. The study site centered around Cape Mountain, and the author made collections from 1979 through 1982 during continuous residence throughout the growing season. The article documents 292 vascular plant taxa in 46 families and 136 genera that occur at the Cape. The flora is marked by having strong alpine affinities and an abundance of Asiatic and Beringian species. The absence of continental species requiring summer warmth that are common elsewhere on the Seward Peninsula is another characteristic. Vegetation habitat types and associated dominant vegetation are described.
