A statistical analysis of the flora was conducted at three archaeological sites and one control site located in Walnut Canyon National Monument. The purpose of the study was to determine whether some of the archeological sites contained flora not found in the control plot. The author then proposes possible reasons for this discrepancy (rock cover) and discounts earlier an earlier hypothesis applied at Bandelier National Monument that the difference was due to flora introduced by the prehistoric residents.
