Comparative photos document changes in natural vegetation in the Williams, Burro and Aguajita springs areas of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, AZ, following removal of domestic livestock from the monument in 1978-79. Resampling and rephotographing in 1984 were done at points of heaviest prior stock use, so are not representative of the whole area. Differences in vegetation changes among the springs depend partly on the size of the spring, and partly on plant species represented in the surrounding desert vegetation.
