General Notes: Bang's Disease in the Yellowstone National Park Buffalo and Elk herds
Rush WM. 1932. General Notes: Bang's Disease in the Yellowstone National Park Buffalo and Elk herds. Journal of Mammalogy. 13(4):371-372
It has been noted for the past three or four years that a number of buffalo cows aborted their calves. Bang's disease (infectious or contagious abortion) has been suspected of being the cause. This article shows the results of a study of a herd of bison and a herd of elk in Yellowstone National Park and the prevalence of brucellosis or "Bang's Disease."
